My name is John and I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) for College of Lake County (CLC) in northern Illinois.

I currently teach the intermediate level, as well as an ESL computer class.

I have been teaching at CLC since 2012 and I’ve been teaching ESL since 2011. I have also taught for Mundelein High School Adult Education. Before teaching adults, I was an elementary school teacher for six years (grades K–3).

I have a bachelor’s degree in English from George Mason University, a master’s degree in Education from George Mason University, and a Certificate of Graduate Study in Bilingual and ESL Teaching from Northern Illinois University.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my wife and two children. My hobbies include gardening, reading, listening to music, local history, drawing, yoga, and playing guitar. I am also taking two horticulture classes at CLC.

We have four backyard chickens who entertain us and give us fresh eggs (sometimes).
